This is a biography of actress and TV talk-show host Oprah Winfrey. ‘Penguin Readers‘ is a series of simplified novels, film novelizations and original titles that introduce students at all levels to the pleasures of reading in English. Originally designed for teaching English as a foreign language, the series' combination of high interest level and low reading age makes it suitable for both English-speaking teenagers with limited reading skills and students of English as a second language. Many titles in the series also provide access to the pre-20th century literature strands of the National Curriculum English Orders. ‘Penguin Readers‘ are graded at seven levels of difficulty, from ‘Easystarts‘ with a 200-word vocabulary, to Level 6 (Advanced) with a 3000-word vocabulary. In addition, titles fall into one of three sub-categories: ‘Contemporary‘, ‘Classics‘ or ‘Originals‘. At the end of each book there is a section of enjoyable exercises focusing on vocabulary building, comprehension, discussion and writing. Some titles in the series are available with an accompanying audio cassette, or in a book and cassette pack. Additionally, selected titles have free accompanying ‘Penguin Readers Factsheets‘ which provide stimulating exercise material for students, as well as suggestions for teachers on how to exploit the Readers in class.

長華科打入日導線架市場 斥1.3億元購買OM廠49%股權 10/2交割
導線架廠長華科 (6548-TW) 今 (19) 日公告，斥資 4.9 億日圓，約新台幣 1.34 億元，取得日導線架廠 SH Materials Co., Ltd.(簡稱 SHM)旗下的 Ohkuchi Materials Co., Ltd.(簡稱 OM)49% 股權，交割日預計是 10/2，第 4 季可望依持股比例認列 OM 獲利。
長華科指出，由於日本法令關係，無法對外揭露 OM 廠營運情況，不過該廠營運穩定，淨利率也有 10%，客戶集中在日本，且最大客戶是日本一線大廠，對長華科而言，收購 OM 廠後，除可依持股認列獲利，也代表長華科將正式進入日本導線架市場。
OM 是 SHM 底下導線架廠，SHM 母公司則是 SMM(住友金屬礦山株式會社)，SMM 100% 持有 SHM 股權，此次交易完成後，長華科將持有 OM 49% 股權，其餘 51% 由 SMM 持有。
長華科指出，OM 廠技術專長在高階蝕刻技術，長華科除可依持股比例認列獲利，也能與 SMM 有更多技術合作關係，拓展日本導線架市場。
長華科日前也成立日本分公司，該分公司負責人為土野昌典，市場推估長華科成立日本公司，加上此次購入 OM 廠，長華科已逐步完成進軍日本導線架市場拼圖。
長華科預計 10/2 完成交割，屆時將開始認列持股收益，對長華科營運可帶來正向動能。
另外，長華科第 3 季完整認列 SMM 子公司 SHAP 的營收與獲利，營運動能將逐步升溫，今年可望賺進 1 個股本，明年除 SHAP 外，還有 OM 廠的獲利可以認列，可預期明年獲利表現，將較原先市場預期的還好。
